World Poetry Day: W. H. Auden

Ash already shared one of her favourite poems, so here’s one of mine. I love the utter desperation, the heartbreak and the wanting to shut the world out after losing the person you love most that this poem always brings tears to my eyes.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,Silence the pianos and with muffled drumBring out the coffin, let the mourners come.Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhea.jpg
