I know I told you to go be a badass and force him to answer you, but if you forget because you’re wound around him like tinsel, I’ll forgive you. I mean, fuck.
Do you know what I absolutely loved about this book? And no it’s not the devilishly handsome Fenton that everyone will be raving about. Down girls. It was Brynne. In romance novels I often find that the female leads are pretty samey. Relatively innocent woman needs sexual awakening by a hot, probably rich, broody and sometimes controlling man who just so happens to be the master of all vaginas, an orgasm guru if you will. And while Brynne does enjoy a sexcapade with her leading man, she doesn’t take any of the usual crap that female leads generally put up with. Fenton tries to tell her what not to do, she does it anyway. Fenton repeatedly tells her off for her language and her mouth just gets filthier. It was refreshing!
As for the plot it was a little predictable, although I’ve never actually come across one that involves African terror organisations before. I’m not going to lie, it seems out of place at first but you soon realise where it’s all going. So yeah, it’s just that bit different to set it apart but not as much as I would have liked.
Easy 3*, a fun read with all the things you hope for in a good romance novel. Looking forward to reading more of Locke’s work.
